Well, there is no fixed frame to hang a particular strategy. It is trendy at business schools to come up with various broad frameworks like Michael Porter’s Cost, Differentiation and Focus. Other schools have come up with more and more innovative terminologies. All these, I contend will serve no purpose and only serve to contradict and confuse CEOs and Strategic Planners. There are no shortcuts and the process needs the due rigor.
