It is on the international stage that President Trump can and did use his Machiavellian instincts to the fullest extent. America is today the sole global superpower, and if the leadership is perceived to be weak, there will be many who will challenge its leadership. The international stage is largely anarchic with few enforceable international laws that govern the political and economic engagements between the independent and sovereign nation-states.
